Indian Tourism is Not Apt
At the FICCI Tourism Investors Meet, think tanks analyze the reasons for the Indian tourism sector not attracting the desired amount of investment and how the State Tourism Boards need to take the lead in this regard. Different state governments were asked to prepare reports and analyze the situations in different sectors like travel, accommodation, civic amenities, convention centers, wellness, cruise, adventures and medical tourism. The meetings were successfully held and various issues which mar the desired results were discussed and plans were made to solve them. Many states actively participated, especially, Madhya Pradesh Tourism, Rajasthan Tourism, Andhra Pradesh Tourism, Delhi Tourism and Uttarakhand Tourism. However, the representation from Odisha Tourism was missing at the state presentations the second day. The state governments, nonetheless, are looking for investment in various sectors of tourism including hotels, mega convention centre, wayside amenities, amusement parks, adventure tourism, river cruise, sanitation & civic amenity, etc.
